DEAR DEMIAN, 2022
This is about clay and body.
Inspired by Hermann Hesse's “Demian”.
Telling the protagonist Sinclair's process of finding himself.
How should we face our inner-self in a turbulent world? His friend Demian said: "Clever talk is of no value whatsoever. One merely gets further and further away from oneself and that is a crime. One should be able to crawl right into oneself like a tortoise."
The process of searching is painful, Which is about hope, sinking, struggle and determination, and then again experiences confusion, constantly spinning in this whirlpool. And in the process, fortunately I have Demian by my side.
So, I held a ceremony, using the body as a medium, through physical and emotional shouting, in the form of performance art, to pay tribute to Demian, my guides.
